"The Majors” is a 17th century thatched village property offering very high quality bed and breakfast accommodation in a relaxed atmosphere, awarded 5 diamonds and a silver award for excellence by the Southern Tourist Board. It is often used by corporate guests from major businesses in Haddenham and the surrounding area or as an idyllic oasis for a private stay or to celebrate a special occasion.
The house is furnished with antique furniture and paintings and has a lovely oak framed sitting room with wide windows overlooking the courtyard and the secluded garden on three sides.
There are five en-suite bedrooms, two of which are suites with patios, each with direct telephone, fax, television, a fridge, hair dryer and tea and coffee making facilities. Although the house is a non-smoking establishment the sheltered garden has several attractive seating areas. There is secure off the road parking.
Haddenham is close to the Oxfordshire-Buckinghamshire border, two miles from Thame. The village has a main-line train station (Haddenham and Thame Parkway) with excellent services direct to London and to Birmingham in under an hour. Buses run throughout the day to Oxford, Thame and Aylesbury.
There are a number of good restaurants and pubs in the various villages within a three-mile radius. Haddenham itself has four village pubs serving food, an authentic Indian and Chinese restaurant, both recommended, and a restaurant pub ‘The Green Dragon’ which has been awarded two AA rosettes for the last two years and voted the best pub in Buckinghamshire. All of the latter are within a short walking distance.
